OBITUARY

Joan Ruth Beavers, 73, of Kent, died Friday, January 11, 2008 at Kent Ridge at Golden Pond.

She was born December 4, 1934, in McDowell County, W. Va. to Ralph and Lillian E. (Osborne) Blevins. She was employed by Kroger Grocery. She was a member of Kent Moose Lodge and Crestview Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing games, cards, bingo and bowling.

She is survived by her husband, Thurel, whom she married on July 2, 1951; sons, Douglas (Michelle) of Munroe Falls and Robbie (Cathy) of Massillon; daughters, Beverly (Brian) Jones of Akron and Pam (David) Wilson of Kent; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Blevins of Charleston, S. C.; sisters, Lola Studer of Ormond Beach, Fla. and Helen Neeley of Deltona, Fla.; and many loving friends and neighbors.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2008, at Crestview Baptist Church with Pastor John McIntyre officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral in the church hall. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Summa, 444 N. Main Street, Akron, Ohio 44310 or Kevin Coleman Foundation, 265 West Main Street, Suite 103, Kent Ohio 44240. Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory are handling the arrangements.
