I am not sure if this the correct Daniel Hilton. He had no relatives to provide information according to the document. The informant didn't know Daniel's exact age, where he was born, or his occupation. He died of acute alcoholism according to the coroner's jury.

Daniel married Cynthia Burnett 05 Oct 1895, Rolfe, McDowell Co. WV; divorced Bef 1905. Cynthia (daughter of Jeremiah Burk Burnett and Sally Dalton Vipperman) was born 03 Jun 1872, Pulaski Co.VA; died 10 Oct 1935, Mercer Co. WV; was buried , Sneed Cemetery, Mercer Co. WV. [Group Sheet]

D. F. Hilton, a widower, married Mary E. Barber, 5 June 1905 in McDowell County, WV. He was born in Floyd Co. VA about 1855.

Daniel and Cynthis could have divorced, but said they were widowed. This was frequently done since divorce carried a social stigma at that time.
