William is listed as securing the bond for Emily's marriage to James Slacum and to Mary A. Wallace to Mathias A. Travers on 13 Feb 1847. In addition, Emily names a daughter Mary A. in honor of her sister who evidently died before 8 Aug 1849 as Mathias marries Mary H. Anderson.

William married Mary Jane Slacum. Mary (daughter of Job Slacum and Ann McNamara) was born ca 1833, Northumerland Co. VA. [Group Sheet]

Notes:

A William Wallace gave a deposition 25 Sep 1802 in Northumberland Co. in the case of Craven Everitt and Thomas Hutchings. I believe this may be the father of this family.

More than likely the family came from Dorchester Co. MD. Wallace is a common name there along with Slacum and Travers, both of whom married into the Slacum family.
