MORGANFIELD -- McGennis E. Adair Sr., 80, Morganfield, died at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at his home here, due to complications from Parkinson's Disease.

He retired from Continental Can Co. after 30 years as an air conditioning engineer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elder T.F. and Mary Mooney Adair.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Phyllis Adair; one daughter, Sherry Adair Harley of Kissimmee, Fla.; one son, McGennis "Mac" Adair Jr. of Morganfield; one sister, Nora "Sissy" Short of Avondale W.Va.; a caregiver, Darlene Berry; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Service time is pending, but will be held at Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church in Short Ridge, W.Va. Elder Unice Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Short Ridge Cemetery in Short Ridge.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Parkinson's Foundation or St. Anthony's Hospice.

Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, W.Va. is in charge of the arrangements in West Virginia.
