OBITUARY

Again, the Angel of Death has come and taken away one whom I loved and have lived with for the last thirty years. John L. Workman was called home on March 9, 1907. He was 94 years old, was born in West Virginia, in Carter County, and has been a citizen of Douglas County for 31 years. His health has been failing for about 9 months, and about 4 months of that time, he has been praising God all the time, and has now gone home to rest. My loss is his eternal gain. He requested his children to meet him at home and not forget to pray. He was laid to rest in the Ava Cemetery Sunday evening at 4:00 p.m. This is the request of his companion Eliza J. Workman. Mr. John Workman died at his home one mile east of Ava last Saturday and was buried Sunday evening in the Ava cemetery. He was nearing life's sunset and after a long useful life he died as he had lived ? honored, trusted and loved.

2. Martha Workman was born ca 1861.
3. William Workman was born 12 Feb 1866, Raleigh Co. WV; died 29 May 1935, Cedar Co. MO; was buried , Lindley Prairie Cemetery, Bearcreek, Cedar Co. MO.
4. Moses Workman was born 05 Dec 1869, Kentucky; died 09 Jan 1938, Douglas Co. MO; was buried , Frye Cemetery, Ava, Douglas Co. MO.
5. Juditha Ellen Workman was born 15 Jul 1870, Kentucky; died 18 Nov 1943, Douglas Co. MO; was buried , Murray Cemetery, Squires, Douglas Co. MO.
