Mary Louise Stackpole Smith, age 85, of Woodsfield, Ohio died Thursday April 21, 2011 at the Barnesville Hospital. She was born December 20, 1925 in Hastings, West Virginia a daughter of the late Fay Elmer and Bessie Virginia Scyoc Stackpole.
She had attended grade school at Porters Falls, West Virginia and High School at Reader, West Virginia. Mary Louise and her husband Brady were Baptized by Evangelist Elmer Taylor at a Gospel meeting held in Cameron, Ohio Oct. 12, 1950. Louise was a faithful member of the Woodsfield Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by one son; James Ronald Smith, October, 1984, great grandson; Christian Starr Wellman, sisters; Matha Wilma Lee Stackpole Reed, Ruth Marie Stackpole Ady, and Shirley Grace Stackpole, one brother; Emmett Stackpole.
She is survived by her husband Brady Eugene Smith of Woodsfield who she married March 4, 1947 by J.VA Traylor at his home, two daughters; Julie Lynne Smith Schuab of Peach Tree City, Georgia, and Jean Lynette Smith of Milford, Ohio, one brother; Charles Raymond Stackpole of Brookfield, Wisconsin, five grandchildren; Lt. Col. James R. Smith Jr. of Houston, Texas, Sherry Smith of Columbus, Ohio, Fayetta Lee Wellman of Phoenix, Arizona, Timothy Schwab of Nashville, Tennessee, and David Lee Schwab of Peach Tree City, Georgia, four great grandchildren; Paul Brady Schwab, Andrew James Smith, Cortney Lynn Smith, Gillian Wellman, and a daughter-in-law; Cheryl Elane Love Smith of Phoenix, Arizona.
Friends received from 1:30 until time of Funeral Service at 3 p.m. Saturday April 23, 2011 at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home 100 S. Paul St. Woodsfield, Ohio with Ministers Chuck Schultheisz and Keith Jones officiating. Interment in the Oaklawn Cemetery Woodsfield, Ohio.
