Richard L. Giddens, 72, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away July 5, 2006, at the Providence Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at Maple Hill Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Giddens was born July 1, 1934, in Eldon, Missouri, and had lived in Kansas City, Kansas, for most of his life. Richard was a Processor for the IRS for several years retiring in 1989. He was a Korean war Veteran. Survivors include son Richard J. Giddens, Kansas City, Kan.; daughters Diana and husband Donald Stakley, of the home, and Sharon Hernandez, Edgerton, Kan.; brothers Jerry Giddens, Parsons, Kan., and Al Giddens, Houston, Mo.; sister JoAnn Risley, Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
