OBITUARY
Northampton Times, Cape Charles, VA: 15 October 1936
Funeral services for George F. Parramore, Jr., 42, whose death occurred Saturday night when he was struck by a passing automobile while filling his gas tank alongside the Coastal Highway, were conducted by the Rev. John R. Rosebro, of Holmes Presbyterian Church Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the family residence, "Townfields".
Interment was in the burial plot at "Pocahontas" the Parramore homestead at Eastville. Pallbearers were brothers of the deceased and a brother-in-law, Mr. William Sterrett, of Rockbridge County, Va. There were many lovely floral tributes, bespeaking the popularity of the deceased and the affectionate sympathy of the community for his family and loved ones.
Mr. Parramore, who was a member of a distinguished Eastern Shore family and a prominently connected in Northampton and Accomac Counties was the son of George F. Parramore and the late Mrs. Parramore, and had made his home here during his entire life. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Rebecca Sterrett Parramore, formerly of Rockbridge County; five children, George, 3rd, Reid, Angeline, Thomas and William Parramore; his father; five sisters, Mrs. J.D. Boole, of Exmore, Mrs. Samuel Womble, of Cheriton, Mrs. T. Murray Scott, of Eastville; Mrs. Fred S. Burford, of Laurel, Del., and Miss Josephine Parramore of Washington, D.C.; and five brothers, Thomas Parramore, of Winton, N.C.; William P. Parramore, of Washington, D.C.; Lafayette H. Parramore, of Chester, Pa.; and J. Morrison Parramore, of Newport News.
