She was born in Buchanan County Virginia and was the daughter of the late Nathan Wade and Molly Chambers Wade both Buchanan county natives. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Franklin Gillespie, grandson Rodney Gillespie, sister Eady Wade Smith and three brothers Carl Wade, Marvin Wade, and Rufus Peach Wade. Survivors are four sons--Cecil Gillespie of Richlands Virginia,Troy Gillespie of Abingdon Virginia, David Gillespie of Memphis Tenn and Darrell Gillespie of Roanoke Virginia; three sisters Eunice Wade Baldwin of Doran Virginia, Vinnie Viola Wade Newberry of Newport News Virginia, and Gladys Wade Boyd of Cedar Bluff Virginia; five grandchildren--Gayle Gillespie-Robert Gillespie-Layne Gillespie--Brooke Gillespie and Judy Blevins; three great-grandchildren--Bonita Gillespie--Elizabeth Blevins and Emily Blevins. Funeral services for Mrs. Stella Jane Wade Gillespie will be conducted Tuesday Aug 10 2004 at eleven at the Hust-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Burial will be in the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands Virginia.
