Born in Mill Creek, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Rufus Mitchell and Clersie A. Newberry Griffith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Lonie Beatrice Griffith and one brother, Hershel James Griffith. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Ralph D. Armes; three brothers, Billy Roger Griffith of Mill Creek, Virgle Griffith and wife Billie of Smithfield, VA and Jerry Griffith and wife Doris of Conurs, OH; special friend, Patty Elswick of Mill Creek; a host of nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
