Notes	OBITUARY The News Virginian; 16 September 2010 Spicy "Bette" W. Reid, 83, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at her home. She was the daughter of the late Jerry Bledsoe and Lillian Tomlin Wade. Spicy was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence L. Reid; a brother, Jerry Wade; and five sisters, Helen Wilson, Velma Davis, Jean Welch, Ora June Benton, and Amelia Ann Bowden. She is survived by two sons, David A. Ross and John W. Ross; three daughters, Susan R. Walker, Karen R. Bartelme and Joan C. Sutton. She is also survived by three stepchildren, Gary A. Reid, Kenneth L. Reid and Brenda S. Jones. She leaves eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Spicy enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, quilting, tatting, and all crafts. She loved to play cards. A graveside service will be held at Augusta Memorial Park, 1 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010, officiated by Dr. Glen A. Holman. There will be no public viewing or visitation at McDow Funeral Home, however, those wishing to share their memories with the family online may do so at www.mcdowfuneralhomeinc.com.
