Mrs. Woodward was a life-long resident of Washington County and a member of Woodland Hills Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard C. Woodward; her parents Frank and Dora Phelps; her daughter-in-law Clara Woodward; her great grandson Ashton Woodward; her brother Elmer Phelps; and her sister Betty Phelps. Survivors include her son Rodney Wayne Woodward, Abingdon; two granddaughters Melanie Guinn, Columbia, SC, and Topaz Christian and husband Gene of Abingdon, VA; and three great grandchildren Peyton Guinn, Dominique Romero and Jayden Christian. Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Woodward will be on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at 2 pm at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Paul Viers officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Roger Phelps, Keith Phelps, Brian Phelps, Sam Bralley, Raymond Woodward, Gene Christian, and Dominique "Nick" Romero.
