Born June 24, 1916 in Dwina, VA he was a son of the late Noble A. and Virginia Ellen Stallard Kirk. Mr. Kirk was a member of the Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church of Bluefield, VA. Paul was an active Mason having memberships in; Bluefield Beni Kedem Shrine Patrol, a 50 year member of the Bluefield-Mercer Lodge #85 A.F. &A.M., Bluefield Commandery # 19, and Bluefield Royal Arch Masons Chapter #20. Mr. Kirk was formerly employed at Dubuque Meat Packing as a salesman and was a former manager for C.H. Mead Coal Co. in Meade, WV. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by; brothers, Louie, Leon, Homer, Kenneth, James, and Herbert Kirk, sisters; Mable Bruce, Hazel Hollins, and Helen Widener. Survivors include; his wife of 75 years Mary Phyllis Chambers Kirk of the home, a daughter; Barbara Aguirre and husband Tom of Logan, WV, a son; Paul F. Kirk, Jr. of Bluefield, WV, a grandson; Kirk Aguirre and wife Angie, two granddaughters; Britta and Morgan Aguirre, special care-giver; Ramona Robinson, several nieces and nephews, and a host of neighbors and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Kirk will be conducted on Friday February 29, 2008 at 12:00 noon from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Charles M. Wood officiating. Entombment will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery where the Bluefield-Mercer Lodge # 85 will conduct graveside rites. The Bluefield-Mercer Lodge #85 will serve the Kirk family as pallbearers. ?? Friends may call at Mercer Funeral Home one hour prior to services.
