OBITUARY
Batesville Guard, Batesville, Arkansas
NEWPORT Linnie Tate Evins, 98, of Newport, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at her home.
Born Jan. 22, 1903, at Cagle, Tenn., near McMinnville, she was the daughter of Bill and Lou Ella Elliott Tate. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Paul Evins of Newport; two brothers, Earl Tate of Searcy and Fletcher Tate of Pennington; three grandchildren, Shawn Evins of Newport, Charlotte Evins Swann of Jonesboro and Carola Evins Music of Searcy; and six great-grandchildren, Allison Evins, Trey Swann, Zac Evins, Katie Swann, Clayton Swann and Caroline Swann.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buster Evins; a son, Wayne Evins; two brothers, Elmer Tate and Burl Tate; and three sisters, Annie Balch, Juanita Tuffaneli and Bertie Moore.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Pennington Cemetery with Paul Evins and Ted Knight officiating. Arrangements are by Jackson?s Newport Funeral Home.
