- He took part in the battle for Point Pleasant in 1773 and his name is listed on the monument. He is a Revolutionary War veteran and his name, along with his sons Hezekiah and Millington, is listed on the monument to Revolutionary War soldiers of Giles County located at Pearisburg, VA.
