    Notes:

    William was the high bidder on June 8, 1842 in Henry County,Georgia for 55 acres.

    The family was in Henry County, Georgia on August 28, 1850 when W. H. is listed as a silversmith.

    Records from the journal of Dr. Samuel B. Dickinson written during 1851 and 1852 show William purchased a roan mare for$30.00 and had Dr. Sam treat Colquit in early 1852 for an illness. Colquit would have been about 5 years old.

    The grave site of William was located in 1994 by Nan Strode Drozd, a great granddaughter of William H. Castellow's sister,Martha Jane "Dolly" Castellow Garner, in what is called The Mount Olive Cemetery, southwest of Mount, Lavaca County, Texas. Dates of birth and death are shown on the badly broken gravestone. Located near William H. Castellow is the grave stone of his younger brother, Francis M. Castellow.

    1850 census for Henry County, Georgia

    1860 census for Henry County shows seven children ages 2 to 15 years old.

    George bought 202-1/2 acres from Elijah Bailey for $400.00 on January 19, 1849 in Henry County, Georgia, Deed Book L, page438.

    He also bought from Thomas R. Robinson of Macon County, Alabama on December 18, 1846, 202 1/2 of land for $200.00, Deed Book M,page 240. This land was in lot 229, District 2, Henry County,Georgia.

    George's will was signed July 2, 1822. It is in Will Book B,1872-1894, page 276.

    George married Catherine (Katie) Crumbley 26 Feb 1844, Henry Co. GA. Catherine was born 20 Nov 1818; died 11 Jun 1910, Henry Co. GA; was buried , Beersheba Primitive Baptist Cemetery, Henry Co. GA. [Group Sheet]

    He was a carpenter.

    Records from the journal of Dr. Samuel B. Dickson show that Dr.Sam was at James Castellow's home on several occasions in 1851in what appears to be the delivery of a baby and treating both James and Sarah for some type of fever using quinine. Later, in February 1852, Dr. Sam was back to treat William for several days and then Thomas for several days in July.

    On February 3, 1852, it appears twins were born to James and Sarah Ann. They must not have survived since census records do not show any children in the household born during this time frame. In March 1853, Dr. Sam was back for five visits to an unnamed child. Total fee was $7.50.

    James married Sarah Ann Davies 14 Sep 1848, Henry Co. GA. Sarah was born 09 Jan 1814, Washington Co. GA; died 1859, Lavaca Co. TX. [Group Sheet]
