    Gerald Lawson "Jerry" Duke, 69, of Damon passed away Monday, February 1, 2010 in Yoakum, Texas, while on the San Antonio Trailride.

    Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2010 in the Palms Funeral Home Chapel with Jamie Hill officiating.

    Burial will follow in Angleton Cemetery.

    Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Palms.

    Jerry was born September 30, 1940 in Pineville, Louisiana. He retired in 1996 from Dow Chemical after 35 years of service as a Production Foreman in Cell Feed A. After retirement Jerry stayed busy with his cattle and horses.

    Jerry's love was Trailrides. He had served as Trailboss, Asst Trailboss and Director of Brazoria County Trail Riders Assoc. He was a Lifetime Member of Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and Brazoria County Fair Assoc., and was a member of the Houston Livestock Show's Mule Show Committee.

    Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, John A. Duke Sr., Mary Ruth Tipton and Julian "Jake" Willis and brother, John A. "Buddy" Duke Jr.

    Survivors include his daughters, Patricia Mager and husband, Mark, of Danbury and Sherri Carey and Mike Jones of Lake Jackson, and their mother; Patty Duke Jones of Clute; grandaughters, Mindy, Macy and Mikayla Mager, Traci Mann and Kenna Carey; sisters, Johnnie McDearmont and husband, Thomas, of Arlington and Marjorie Eernisse and husband, Roger, of Arcadia; brother, Randy Willis of Austin and 15 nieces and nephews.

    Pallbearers will be J.R. Johnson, Ronnie Delvige, Willie Delvige, Buck Yontz, Sam Hattfield, Tommy Beledsoe, Ken DeZavala, Kenny Batts, Chip Horak, Martiz Lopez, Warren Sbrusch and Randy Shaddock.

    Honorary Pallbearers will be all members of Brazoria County Trailriders Assn.
