    OBITUARY

    Kingsport Times, Friday, 26 January 1973

    JOHNSON CITY-Judge P. Tate, 78, of Mountain Home, died at 6 a.m. Thursday. A native of Virginia, he had lived in Kingsport for a number of years and was a former employee of Tennessee Eastman Co. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Tate. He was a member of the Methodist church and was a veteran of World War I. He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Maude Ashworth Irish, Elizabethton, Mrs. W. W. Reed, Paplin, Va., Mrs. Delia Hooper, Reedsville, N. C., and Mrs. Nettie Cyphers, Dade City, Fla.; one brother, Denny Tate, Fuqua Springs, N. C.; several nieces and nephews. Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton, is in charge.
