OBITUARY

Gracie Vipperman East, 82, of Vipperman Avenue, Stuart, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at Blue Ridge Nursing Center.
She was born Sept. 4, 1925, in Patrick County to Noah Vipperman and Tildie Pack Vipperman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Sam Junior East; two sisters, Mindy Hiatt and Elsie Queen; and five brothers, Elzie Vipperman, John Vipperman, Jim Vipperman, Joe Vipperman and William Vipperman.

She retired from R.J. Reynolds Patrick County Memorial Hospital in the housekeeping department and was a member of Patrick Springs Church of God of Prophecy.

Surviving are her husband, Sam East of the home; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Abiding Grace Church with Pastors Dale Bailey, Jim Vipperman and J.R. Vipperman officiating. Burial will be in the Hooker family cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. today at the church.

Moody Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
