Isaac "Ike" Bonham Davis Jr., 86, husband of Mildred Harris Davis, of Baldwin Drive, died Friday, February 13, 2009, at Augusta Medical Center, Fishersville.

He was born August 7, 1922, in Russell County, the son of the late Isaac B. and Beulah Glenn Davis.

Mr. Davis was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II.

Prior to retirement, he was employed by the Virginia State Police as a trooper with 31 years of service. He was a member of the Staunton Masonic Lodge #13 for over 50 years. He also belonged to Staunton-Augusta County Civic Club for many years.

He was a member of Central United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife of 60 years, family members include a brother, Winston B. Davis of Richmond; and 11 nieces and nephews, Kay Carter, Lynn Hill, Bill Hanger, Jane Hanger, Tom Bowles, Neal Bowles, Sarah Stacy, Leigh Ann Riggleman, Mike Davis, Linda Stinson, and Brenda Jenkins.

A Masonic service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2009, at the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Staunton Masonic Lodge #13.

Burial will be private.

Active pallbearers will be members of the Virginia State Police Honor Guard.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Virginia State Police.
