OBITUARY
Mrs. Betty Phyllis Geisbert, 81, of Frederick, died on Saturday morning, Jan. 14, 2006, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Earle Franklin Geisbert Sr., who died in 1977.
Born at Coeburn, Va., Dec. 16, 1924, Mrs. Geisbert was a daughter of the late Horace Ney and Ollie Tate Body.
Mrs. Geisbert had been employed at the Visitation Academy and at St. John's Elementary and High schools in Frederick for a number of years. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Frederick.
Surviving are two sons, Earle F. Geisbert Jr. and Charles Gilds Geisbert II, and wife, Kathi, both of Frederick; two daughters, Becky Winpigler and husband, Shawn, and Susan M. Renn and husband, James, both of Frederick; 11 grandchildren; one step-grandson, and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother, Jack Body and wife, Janet, Chevy Chase; her sister, Margaret Body Hackney, Frederick; and a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friends, Franklin Smith, New Market, and Joyce Printz, of Frederick.
The family will receive friends at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, on Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 10 a.m., from the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Dr. Joseph R. Foster, her pastor, will officiate. Interments will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, Md.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Earle F. Geisbert III, Charles G. Geisbert III, Shawn R. Winpigler Jr., and Chase E. Winpigler, and nephews, John Body and Jeff Hackney.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to either the Grace United Church of Christ, 25 East Second Street, Frederick, MD 21701, or to the American Lung Assoc., of MD, Inc., Executive Plaza 1, Suite 600, 11350 McCormick Rd., Hunt Valley, MD 21021.
