Delbert R. Williamson

RICHLANDS -- Delbert R. Williamson, 85, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, in a Richlands hospital.

He was born in Cedar Bluff, a son of the late James "Jim" and Katie Beavers Williamson. He was a businessman in the Richlands area and owned and operated King Kone Restaurant for more than 50 years. He was the widower of Edgar Ratliff Williamson.

Surviving are his wife, Billie Sue Keene; a stepson, Thomas A. Keene of Tazewell, Va.; a brother, Joe C. Williamson of Cedar Bluff; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff. The Rev. Max Linkous will officiate. Entombment will be in Greenhills Mausoleum at Claypool Hill.

Mr. Williamson was also preceded in death by six brothers, Jim Williamson, Harve Williamson, Bill Williamson, Robert Williamson, Emory Williamson and G.F. "Bud" Williamson; and a sister, Myrlie Altizer.

Among survivors are a special friend, Chris McClintock; and four special and loyal employees, Tishia Shelton, Angie Lester, Amy Keen and Terri Absher.

Pallbearers will be Danny Williamson, John M. McClintock Jr., David Williamson, Jeff Shelton, Gaines Tatum, Clayton Smith, Randall Nickols and Mike Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Brown, David Bays, Dr. M.J. Thakkar, Dr. James McVey, Doug Steele, Jack Altizer, Bill Beavers, Maylon Jennings, Bob White, Bob Nassif and Arnold Short.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Singleton Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.

Joseph Carl Williamson, 87, of Cedar Bluff, passed away Monday, April 30, 2007, at his home following a lengthy illness.

Born March 4, 1920, in Cedar Bluff, he was the son of the late James (Jim) and Katie Beavers Williamson. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of UMWA and Cross Roads Community Church. In additon to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Wilson Williamson;one son, Joseph Daniel Williamson;one sister, Myrlie Altizer;seven brothers, Jim Williamson, Harve Williamson, Bill Williamson, Robert Williamson, Emory Williamson, G. F. (Bud) Williamson, and Delbert R. Williamson; and one grandson, Joseph Henry Williamson. He was the last surviving member of his family in his generation.

He is survived by one son, David Williamson and wife, Letitia (Tish), whom were his loving caretakers, of Cedar Bluff;five grandchildren, Melanie Hoover, Kimberly Deel, Katherine Lester, Heather Williamson, and Josh Williamson; adopted granddaughter, Amy Williamson;two step- grandchildren, Thomas Claytor and Jodilynn Claytor Tibbs;five great-grandchildren, Christopher Hoover, Emily Kyle, Michael David Kyle, Adam Drew Kyle, and Joseph Tanner Deel.

H. June Christian, age 91 of Cedar Bluff, VA was called by The Lord to be with him, her Dad and Mom on Wednesday, January 19, 2011. She was a resident of Heritage Hall Health Care in Tazewell, VA.

Born February 25, 1919 at Cedar Bluff, VA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Victor and Pearl Beavers Christian. She was a member of the Crossroads Adventist Christian Church. June was always a loving caregiver, especially to her mother and father in their later years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Christian and a sister, Mary O. Huckleberry. Left to cherish her memory are two brothers, Victor Christian and wife, BettyAnne of Chattanooga, TN and Philip Christian and wife, Kay of Kernersville, NC; two sisters, Violet Hampton and husband, Claude of Lenexa, KS and Carol Burress of Willoughby, OH; also much loved nieces, nephews, and their extended families that she treated as her own children; Edith Hager Bell and Norma Smith who were special caregivers.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2011 at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, VA with the Rev. Bill Shook officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA.

OBITUARY

Bernard Newton "Bernie" Williamson, 88, of Stafford County, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 4, 2015.

Born March 8, 1926, in Tazewell County in southwest Virginia, Mr. Williamson was most recently a resident of Hughes Home in Fredericksburg. He was the son of the late Harvey and Anna Williamson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Maxie Williamson.

After working as a service manager at an automobile dealership in Richlands, Bernie and his wife, Maxie, moved to Northern Virginia where he worked at Ourisman Dodge in Alexandria. Bernie left the private sector to work for the Department of the Army at Fort Belvoir as a heavy equipment repairman. Bernie retired from the Federal Government in 1987, and immediately went back to work at his church, the Stafford Church of God, where he served as the groundskeeper and maintenance man for 11 years.

In addition to the work he did during the week at the church, Bernie served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher for many years. He also served on the Finance Committee and served numerous terms on the Church & Pastors Council. Bernie was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Signal Corps in the 1950s.

He is survived by his daughter, Catherine Flinn, her husband, Shawn, and a grandson, Patrick Flinn, all of Stafford; his sisters, Peggy Gilbert, Frances Lester, and Vivian Beavers of southwest Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews. A step-mother, Grace Williamson and sister, Kate Alley, preceded him in death.

The family received friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2015, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford. A service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at the funeral home chapel.

Entombment followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stafford Church of God, P.O. Box 309, Garrisonville, VA 22463.
