ELLER BEAVERS

Eller Beavers, aged 52, a Bandy farmer was found dead last Thursday afternoon in the yard of his home. It was stated that death was due to a heart attack he suffered Tuesday morning.

He was born at Bandy, a son of the late Thomas and Lula Mitchell Beavers, both natives of Tazewell county. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Earnest Lynn of Bandy and
Mrs. Lessie Bryant of Clintwood; one brother, William Beavers of Bandy, one half sister, Mrs. Hazel Blankenship, of Cedar Bluff, one step sister, Mrs. Billey Harrison of Bandy, one half brother, Junior Beavers of Cedar Bluff and one step brother, Gally Bryant of Bandy.

Vernie Jean Parsons, 70, of Charleston, S.C., passed away on Fri., Aug. 7, 2009, in Mount Pleasant, S.C. She was born on April 1, 1939 in Berwind, McDowell County, W.Va., to the late Guy Logan Beavers and Virgie V. Dunford. Vernie loved fishing and her favorite hobby was going to Yard Sales.

She is survived by her seven sons, Dennis Blaine Parsons, of N. Tazewell, Va., Bruce Wayne Parsons, of Wilmington, N.C., Barry K. Parsons, of Burlington, N.C., Garry W. Parsons, of Charleston, S.C., Jeffrey L. Parsons, of N. Tazewell, Va., Steve B. Parsons, of Detroit, Mich. and Kevin F. Parsons, of Charlotte, N.C.; three sisters, Betty M. Glover, of N. Tazewell, Va., Mattie G. Asbury, of Gaithersburg, Md. and Guyetta Dunn, of Falls Church, Va.; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry B. Parsons, and her sister, Joyce Jacobs. Arrangements are being made through PALMETTO CREMATION SOCIETY, Charleston, S.C.

Hazel Virginia Creed Hatfield, 90, died March 1, 2010 at Blumenthal Jewish Nursing and Rehab Center in Greensboro, N.C. She was a former resident of Bluefield, W.Va. and Welch, W.Va.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Directory, Princeton, W.Va., with the Reverend Howard Finkel officiating. Internment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, W.Va. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Born in Hartwell, W.Va. on April 8, 1919, Hazel was the daughter of Claude Creed and Meda Beavers Creed. A graduate of Big Creek High School, she lived and worked in McDowell County most of her life. She and her husband, the late McGinnis E. Hatfield, Sr., were members of the First Baptist Church of Welch, and later the First Baptist Church of Bluefield. They were residents of Greensboro, N.C. since 2002.

Hazel is survived by a daughter, Patricia Dotson of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sons, McGinnis E. Hatfield, Jr. and wife Melissa of Bluefield, W.Va., and Richard W. Hatfield and wife Nancy of Greensboro, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Robin Craft, Rhonda Killmon, Renee Deyoe, Matthew E. Hatfield, Janie Hatfield, Richard Waitman Hatfield, Emily Hatfield and Jana Hatfield; and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Matt Hatfield, Richard Waitman Hatfield, Jacob Killmon, Jason Killmon, Brian Richardson and Jordon Craft.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to the animal shelter in your area. The Hatfield family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory & Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
