He took part in the battle for Point Pleasant in 1773 and his name is listed on the monument. He is a Revolutionary War veteran and his name, along with his sons Hezekiah and Millington, is listed on the monument to Revolutionary War soldiers of Giles County located at Pearisburg, VA.

2. | Millington Adkins (1.Parker1) was born 20 Sep 1755, Halifax Co. VA. Notes:
He was a Revolutionary War Soldier serving in the Virginia Militia prior to, during and after the War.
His name is on the Monument to Revolutionary War soldiers of Giles County, along with his father, Parker, and his brother, Hezekiah, at Pearisburg, in Giles County VA. He lived at the mouth of the Spruce Run which is part of Sinking Creek which flows in to the New River. This is in Craig County, VA now.
Most of his life the area was in Montgomery and Giles Counties at the time.

4. | Hezekiah Adkins (1.Parker1) was born 20 Sep 1759, Halifax Co. VA; died 19 Mar 1842, Wayne Co. VA (now WV). Notes:
He was a private in the American Revolution. His name is listed on the Revolutionary War Plaque of Giles County soldiers at Pearisburg, Giles County, VA.
He also was a missionary Baptist preacher for over 50 years.
Sometime between 1800 and 1807 Hezekiah moved his family to Beech Fork near present day Winslow in Wayne County, West VA.

The family story that has been passed down that Parker Adkins although being married to Mary Fry, he fathered a daughter with Bluesky. When Bluesky died at a young age, Parker took the child (Charity) back to his wife, Mary Fry Adkins, and she raised her as her own. Mary claimed this child as her own, knowing that it wasn't, but she had several sons and no daughter.
Charity married Randolph (Randle) Adkins 27 Aug 1788, Montgomery Co. VA. Randolph was born ca 1759, Augusta Co. VA; died ca 1819, Raccoon Creek, Cabell Co. VA (now WV). [Group Sheet]

him one the more wealthy citizens of the county.
