Dwight Eugene Nicely, age 57, of 433 Brentwood Drive, Covington, VA, died Tuesday, June, 5, 2001 at his residence.
Mr. Nicely was born February 26, 1944 in Clifton Forge, a son of Laura Elsie Nicely Nicely of Clifton Forge and the late Harry Adam Nicely.
He was a retired machinist for CSX Transportation and a member of Faith Baptist Church of Covington.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Henrietta Clark Nicely of Covington; one daughter and son-in-law, Tamera "Tammy" and David Horn of Covington; one son Dwight Timothy "Timmy" Nicely of Covington; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Beulah and Bernard Teaford of Clifton Forge, Carol and Elmer Sharp, Jr. of Fredericksburg, VA and Lou Anna and Larry Sharp of Roanoke, VA; five brothers, James "Buck" Nicely and Norman A. Nicely both of Clifton Forge, Larry E. Nicely of Troutville, Phillip H. Nicely of Great Falls, VA and Benjamin H. Nicely of Kansas City, MO; two grandchildren, Joshua and Emily Horn; a number of nephew and nieces.
Mr. Nicely was preceded in death by his father and one sister Mable Aldridge.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 8, 2001 from the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Friends may pay their respects anytime at Nicely Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 at Nicely Funeral Home, 405 Alleghany Street, Clifton Forge and anytime at the residence in Brentwood. Active pallbearers will be nephews.
The family suggest memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice, Volunteers or to the Building Fund at Faith Baptist Church, 311 Jackson Drive, Covington, VA 24426.
