TROUTVILLE -- Walter Avery Charles, 59, of Troutville, died Sunday, July 14, 2002.
He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Germany, and he was employed as a mail handler with the U.S. Postal Service in Roanoke.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Charles.
Surviving in addition to his mother, Lula Charles, are his wife, Virginia Ann Charles, a Henry County native; three children, Brian Kipling Via, Kimberly Nichole Via and Mary Louise Musselman; two brothers, William and John Charles; and two sisters, Shirley Blackner and Ora R. Boone. No addresses were given on survivors.
Pastor Edwin Moore will conduct a 10 a.m. funeral today at the Daleville Chapel of Rader Funeral Home. The body will be brought to Henry Memorial Park at Bassett for a 2 p.m. graveside service and burial.
